相遇 (Met)

Shanyu is a Tibetan girl who has lived on the plateau with her Tibetan mother since she was a child. One day, when she was 11 years old, the mischievous Shanyu secretly snuck out to play and found herself in a cave. Using her ability to control fire, Shanyu lit up the cave and moved forward, discovering three sleeping fire mice on a stone. Her flames inadvertently woke the fire mice from its slumber, and from then on, the fire mice became Shanyu's companion...

I am very honored to participate in the joint art exhibition about Shan Hai Jing organized by Sheridan CSSA and OCAD' University. This piece is inspired by a combination of my personal worldview and the mythical creature, the Fire Mice, from Shan Hai Jing.
